The Ancient Romans heated their homes and baths with hypocausts, which required the Roman to raise their floor with pillars and letting the smoke from a furnace heat the space left underneath.
While this sounds nice, we aren’t entirely on board with lifting the whole house up. Luckily, this is the 21st Century – we have fittings like the DEVImat.
DEVI, a Danish company, is the world’s largest manufacturer of floor heating systems. It’s part of the Danfoss group, a well-established conglomerate with a focus on quality and energy efficiency.
DEVImat – Underfloor Heating!
The DEVImat system is an easily installed floor heating system for the whole house. Installed underneath wood, concrete or laminate flooring, the DEVImat will heat the whole room through convection!
Even better, it does this without completely ruining the floor: this low-profile floor fitting is practically invisible. With this underneath the tiles, they will be raised by just a few millimetres.
The DEVImat is an electrical underfloor heating system, rather than a water-based (hydronic) one.
This makes it easier to install during a renovation, and for the end-user it means it takes less time to respond to the thermostat controls.
Speaking of which…
DEVIreg Touch Control
…the DEVImat can be connected to a thermostat for greater economy and finer control. This is where the stylish DEVIreg Touch control comes in.
This intelligent touch-screen thermostat has an intuitive programming interface that can be set up on a room-to-room basis with the baked-in setup wizard.
It is compatible with several electrical frames and NTC thermistor sensors. Like the DEVImat, the control unit is easily installed with its “clip-on” design.
If you’re tempted by its good looks, there is a virtual controller that you can try online.
(By the way, the DEVIreg thermostat is not actually specific to the DEVImat so if you’re feeling envious, it can be connected to many different electrical floor heating systems!)
